Look, we're not gonna pretend we've been here since 1842 or something. Truth is, Cendral Quinta Vix opened its doors about eight years ago, but the land? That's got stories going back generations. The original vineyard was planted by Portuguese settlers who saw something special in this corner of Kelowna - those rolling hills, that perfect microclimate, the way morning mist hangs over the vines just so.
Our founder, Maria Cendral, fell in love with this property during a wine tour back in 2015. She wasn't even looking to buy anything - just enjoying a weekend away. But standing there among the vines at sunset, glass of Pinot in hand, she knew she had to create something here. Not just another hotel, but a place where people could truly disconnect and breathe.
Fast forward to now, and we've transformed a historic estate into what you see today - keeping the soul of the vineyard while adding those luxuries that make a stay memorable.

Here's something we learned pretty quickly - guests who come for the wine country experience also crave balance. You can't just indulge without giving your body some love too, right?
That's why we built our spa from the ground up with a philosophy that's kinda become our thing: treat yourself, then treat yourself better. Our therapists use grape seed extracts and botanicals from local vineyards in their treatments. Sounds fancy, but it's actually just making smart use of what's literally growing outside our windows.
We've got everything from hot stone massages to yoga sessions overlooking the valley. Some guests spend entire weekends bouncing between the spa, the tasting room, and those ridiculously comfy suites. Can't say we blame 'em.
No corporate jargon, just the real deal
We're not into that stiff, over-the-top formal service. Our team gets to know you, remembers your preferences, and actually cares about making your stay great. You'll notice the difference - it's in the small gestures and the real conversations.
From the wines in our cellar to the produce in our kitchen, we're all about supporting our neighbours. Kelowna's got incredible artisans, farmers, and winemakers - why would we source from anywhere else? Plus, it just tastes better when it's fresh and local.
We're not perfect, but we're trying. Solar panels on the roof, greywater systems for the gardens, composting our kitchen waste. It's not about checking boxes - the land gave us this incredible setting, so taking care of it just feels right.
You won't find gold-plated faucets or marble everywhere. What you will find is Egyptian cotton sheets, locally-crafted furniture that'll last decades, and wine glasses that feel perfect in your hand. It's luxury that's meant to be used, not just photographed.
We maintain about six acres of our own vines - mostly Chardonnay and Pinot Noir that's been growing here for thirty-plus years. We're not trying to become a massive winery (there's plenty of those around), but having our own grapes means we can experiment, collaborate with local winemakers, and offer guests something they can't get anywhere else.
Every fall, we host a harvest weekend where guests can actually get their hands dirty picking grapes. It's become this amazing tradition - people come back year after year, reconnecting with other guests they met previously. That sense of community? That's what we're really growing here.
